What's On Stage has posted a review round up so far of RRTM. Thanks also to TS & Imajrim from the forum who also hunted out some more reviews.
We liked quite a few of the JJ references (but enough of the Jude Law comparisons already...goodness only knows where the Prince Charles ones came from *looks shocked*)
"The top-notch cast give belting performances...The energetic Feild has great charisma too, even if he sometimes speaks as if he has a mouth full of olives." Daily Express (but they only gave 2*)
"Taking the parts of twin brothers Frederic and Hugo, JJ Feild (yes, that is the correct spelling apparently) has the boyish good looks of Jude Law and the mannerisms of a (very) young Prince Charles. Maybe the latter is appropriate here given the class nature of the material and the views of our heir apparent. Feild's Hugo is as cold-blooded as any reptile, but is prone to rants. At the opposite end of the spectrum, his Frédéric a mousey wimp who 't say boo to a goose. Still, Feild is a formidably agile actor, romping round the back of the stage (or under it, perhaps) to appear in seconds as his twin from the opposite wing. He has a place reserved in the Olympic team." London Theatre Guide"Identical twins Frederic and Hugo, both played by Jude Law lookalike JJ Feild, are so handsome and eligible that women tie themselves in knots for the chance to be with them." The London Paper"The contrasting identical twins are now played by Jude Law-lookalike, screen star J. J. Feild who has a great time and ensures that whenever he is on stage, we do too." The British Theatre Guide
