Synopsis

A two part special of RTÉ’s 2005 hit drama, ‘Pure Mule’, shot in-and-around Birr Co. Offaly. Produced by Accomplice Television ‘Pure Mule: The Last Weekend’ is written by Eugene O’Brien, directed by Declan Recks, produced by David Collins, Peter Norris and exec produced by Ed Guiney from here

The show will portray an unnamed midlands town in economic freefall. The show demonstrates how the recession has affected the country as we see Scobie, who works in the building trade, pack his bags for Australia. The weekend Scobie is due to depart, Jennifer (Charlene McKenna)
suddenly returns to the town after a four year absence in England, to bury her mother. Jennifer has brought her boyfriend of two years Tom (JJ Feild), the Englishman who helped her get her act together after some dark times in London.
